FOOD HACKS!!!
Okay, so, I might be a little too excited about this one because I LOVE food (who doesn't, right?). Soooo, let's get into some food hacks!
·
Make any cake
taste like it was from a bakery!
o
Follow the
directions on the box.
o
Add one more egg
(or 2 more for a richer flavor).
o
Replace oil with
melted butter & double the amount.
o
Replace water
with milk.
o
Mix & bake
according to the package.
·
Take your bananas
apart when you get home from the store. If you leave them connected at the
stem, they ripen faster.
·
Store your open
chunks of cheese in aluminum foil to prevent mold.
·
Peppers with 3
bumps on the bottom are sweeter & better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps
on the bottom are firmer & better for cooking.
·
Add a teaspoon of
water when frying ground beef. It will help pull the grease away from the meat
while cooking.
·
To make scrambled
eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or
heavy cream, then beat them up.
·
For a cool
brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andes mints in double broiled
& pour over warm brownies. Let set for a minty frosting.
·
Add garlic
immediately to a recipe for a light taste of garlic & at the end if you
want a stronger taste of garlic.
·
Leftover
Halloween Snickers dessert: Chop them up in a food chopper. Peel, core &
slice apples. Place in baking dish & sprinkle chopped candy over the
apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes & serve with vanilla ice cream.
·
Heat up leftover
pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set to low-med heat & heat
till warm. Keeps the crust crispy.
·
Deviled eggs: Put
cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag & mash it up. Add remaining ingredients
& mix. Cut the tip of the bag & squeeze mixture into egg.
·
When you buy cake
frosting, whip it with your mixer, which doubles it in size.
·
To warm biscuits,
pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a
cup of water.
·
Before pouring
sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hot water. Dump out the hot
water, but don’t dry the cup. The substances will easily come right out.
·
Eating mangos
before smoking marijuana can heighten its effects.
·
11 Stress
Relieving Foods: Bananas, pasta, almonds, grapes, green tea, oatmeal,
chocolate, watermelon, orange juice, cornflakes, & tuna.
·
Before frying,
sprinkle a little salt in your pan to keep the oil from splattering.
·
Eating a piece of
chocolate for breakfast can help stabilize your mood & enhance your
happiness throughout the day.
·
A banana for
breakfast can also stabilize your mood. It is known as the happy fruit. Can you
image having chocolate-covered bananas for breakfast???
·
To cook bacon
perfectly, put it on tin foil, heat the oven to 400 degrees, & bake it for
12 minutes.
·
When limited
water is available, rinse your mouth for 30 seconds before swallowing since
most of your thirst is caused by a dry mouth.
·
Crush up candy
canes this holiday season to add to hot chocolate, cake batter, cookies, ice
cream, etc.
·
Rub oil on your
eggs before refrigerating. It will keep them fresh longer.
·
After cutting a
cake, use toothpicks & bread to cover the exposed part. The bread will get
hard, but the cake will stay soft.
·
If you need some
lemon juice, poke a hole in a lemon with a toothpick, squeeze some juice out,
then cover the hole with tape & store in the fridge for later.
·
Store cut avocado
with a cut onion. The sulfur helps keep the brown away. Also, a sprinkle of ACV
will help keep from browning as well.
·
Wrap banana
crowns in plastic. They’ll last 3-5 days longer.
·
Make herb butter
ice cubes. Fresh herbs spoil quickly. Preserve them by mixing with melted
butter & freezing for future meals.
·
Use a pants
hanger as a cookbook holder.
·
Use a muffin tin
for a condiments holder at a party.
